What do you get when you mix eight musicians, five instruments (including a toaster), and a 20 year legacy of recording? UB40's "Labour of Love III", a unique blend of reggae and pop. The album is fun, wit synthesized sounds found in "Good Ambition" and a modernization of Neil Diamond's "Holly Holy"; however, the lyrics are mediocre, and the rhythms are repetitive. The music is wonderful for dancing, but does not lend itself to pure listening.
Listen to Campbell's plea: "Come back darling, I'll give you another try, I'll make you satisfied." Perhaps their next effort will satisfy.
