Attention Please is twelve songs of contradiction after contradiction. At times, lead singer Jimmy Newquist seems confident, but far too often does he also sing about the miserable relationships he has endured. The southern tinge in songs like "Ready Set Go" and "Nothing To Prove" goes directly against the hard rock edge in "Attention Please" and "Open Fire."

Furthermore, Caroline's Spine is one of those bands that would blow you away at a live show, but would come off as extremely mediocre when you returned home to listen to their record. Their sound is a good one, but it simply cannot be captured in the studio. Even the disc's presentation is reminiscent of a live show: the songs drag into each other and often begin in the middle of a measure. While nothing would be wrong with this at a concert, the fact that these imperfections are present in the recording can be extremely irritating at times. If Caroline's Spine are on to something truly unique, and are meant to be superstars, this is the album that will take them there.
