This is another of those modern pop-rock bands that are somewhat interchangeable. What with Stroke 9, Third Eye Blind, and the rest of their ilk getting so much airplay, as nice as some of the music on this disc is, the sound is wearing a little thin. I don’t care to be vicious, but lines such as "…like Jessica Rabbit, she collects bad habits, gets her trix for free…" make me sick to my stomach. OK, maybe I do want to be vicious. First off, is Jessica Rabbit a current reference? Does the youth of today even know who she is, much less care about a toon vixen from a decade plus ago? This is just a weird lyrical reference.

"Promise," the new single, is a track that is definitely catchy as hell, and probably won’t leave your head after you hear it. Sure, the chorus is great, but will you remember it a minute later, when the next Blink 182 or Green Day track comes on the radio? I doubt it.

"Your heinous Highness broke her hymen…" OK. I am officially sick to my stomach now. I really wanted to like this disc. I actually liked Eve 6’s sound and thought they showed promise after their debut CD, but it’s all sounding too alike on this sophomore effort. Don Gilmore’s production is once again impeccable and clean, with crisp sound and clean lyrics that are totally understandable, but a producer can’t help the inability of a band. We may be able to hear every word, but is there anything worth listening to? I haven’t found it after repeated playings, and I am still underwhelmed.
