When the disc hit my desk, I thought like a king: should I give it a listen or edit something? I turned the disc on and gave it a hear. Fiona’s come far and finally she’s here. Better production means smiles to me, and poignant songwriting is worth points, at least three. “Fast As You Can” is slow but then quick, the music is deep and the layers are thick. The girl’s all grown up and here’s all her might. I’ve rethought this thought and I know that I’m right.
Fiona Apple

When the pawn hits the conflicts, he thinks like a king. What he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight and he’ll win the whole thing ‘fore he enters the ring. There’s no body to batter when your mind is your might, so when you go solo, you hold your own hand and remember that depth is the greatest of heights and if you know where you stand, then you know where to land and if you fall it won’t matter, cuz you’ll know that you’re right.
