KISS
Madison Square Garden
New York, NY
-Chris Kelly
It would be a lie to say that KISS would have a zero fan base if they didn't pull their acts together. They did manage to sell out Madison Square Garden, and sales of "Psycho Circus" have been anything but dissappointing; however, unlike most comebacks and revivals, KISS haven't pulled anything new out of their sleeve for a long time. Their glitter and special effects are all that stand between them and their demise. If they have even the smallest desire to generate a new fan base from anything relating to their latest record, they aren't on the right track.
Their endless promotions and memorabilia would give someone the impression that they are still looking for more, but they haven't changed their act at all since their initial emergence into the rock 'n' roll scene. Their glittery costumes and long tongues are what made them stars, but in order to remain popular amongst the not so die-hard fans, they are going to have to come up with something new, and fast.
