Um Jammer Lammy, the sequel to the lovable Parappa the Rappa, is so weird that it really makes you wonder what the developers were smoking. The premise is as follows: you are a guitar-playing lamb named Lammy. The game's mission is to get to your first gig ever, overcoming numerous obstacles on the way. This is no ordinary lamb; in addition to her musical talents, she fights fires and flies airplanes!
Graphically, the game is well-presented, with two dimensional characters placed on 3-D backgrounds. To accomplish anything in the game, you must tap the keys of the controller to match the instructions of the "master". It's like a rhythmic version of the "Simon" memory game that was released years ago.
Despite all of the game's features and advantages over Pa Rappa (two-player mode, for example), Lammy lacks the charm and wit of its predecessor, and is only recommended for those truly starving for a sequel. |
